Solo Show ~ Michael
New Opening Date: Friday, January 27th at 7pm
The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council will host an opening night
reception at the Creative Arts Center (23220 Maple Valley Hwy SE, Ste
15) featuring Michael's pencil and charcoal drawings. As you may know,
Michael is an instructor at the CAC and we're thrilled to host Michael's
first solo show. On hand for your enjoyment will be the usual wine
tasting by Maple Valley Shell's Dave Hall and refreshments will also be
served. The evening's highlight will be a line up of entertainment, poetry and guitar (see flyer below).
Artist Bio: I am an
artist, by lifestyle, living with my parents in Kent. After years of
study in Seattle, and in San Diego (at Watts Atelier and Studio 2nd
Street), I got caught up with medical bills and long hours working jobs
to survive. After a two year break from doing any art, and arriving at a
place of personal misery, I quit my high paying job, moved in with my
parents, and have been pursuing art since. Anything worth doing should
be worth doing with as much force as your life can put behind it, or not
done at all. I teach classes at the Creative Arts Center on drawing, I
teach free workshops at art stores around the area, and I teach private
lessons. I am writing my own book on the fundamentals of drawing from
life. I also display my work in the area and am available for
commissions. You can visit my website and my blog to learn more.
