Alison loses her job and her cottage in a rustic, old beach resort in the San Juans when a luxury housing developer buys the land. At 61, she’s old, tired, and broke. Even her passion for photographing orcas fades---no one is interested in her art anymore. Fragile ecological systems are disintegrating fast, both within Alison and all around her. She’s been seeing visions on the beach of a woman claiming to be a whale. Orca Woman wants Alison to dive deep to reclaim her power -- what power?
