About this event
Designed as a compliment to introductory improv classes, this intensive workshop centers on character work rooted in honesty, connection, and raw stage presence. Students will learn how abandoning “safe” big characters and open the door to richer scenes, stronger teamwork, and more satisfying choices rooted in Chicago long-form improv.
Through guided exercises and scene work, participants will also explore the early stages of narrative improv storytelling, learning how stories emerge from grounded relationships rather than pre planned characters and forced plot. The day concludes with a student performance highlighting character work, games and improvised storytelling.
Taught by industry pro Scott Palmason, with training and credits from iO West, Second City, and Disney, this is your chance to explore both long-form and short-form improv in a supportive and fun environment!
