MVCAC'S FIRST COMMUNITY MURAL
Our very first community mural project was completed in the Fall of 2019 thanks to the more than 130 volunteers and members of the community! THANK YOU!
The lion’s share of the mural was painted on Saturday, September 14 and finishing touches were added on the October 26th Make A Difference Day. Together, and with support from our generous sponsors, this nearly 400 foot mural (two 200’ sides) is enjoyed by trail goers in Maple Valley.
Partnering with the City of Maple Valley and King County Parks & Recreation Department, the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council's 2019 Paint By Tunnels mural designed by MVCAC Executive Director Brenda Chrystie spotlights the nearby businesses and organizations focussed on the Arts:
- Dace's Rock 'N More Music Academy;
- Voice In The Valley Music Studio;
- STEAMboat Studio;
- the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra; and
- the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council
Special thanks to: King County Parks & Recreation, 4Culture, King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn, Disneyland Theme Parks, The Rotary Club of Maple Valley, The City of Maple Valley, Sherwin-Williams, Voice In The Valley, From Page To Stage Theater Productions, STEAMboat Studio, Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, Local Pros Painting, Maple Valley Signs, Jenna Riggs Collaborative, Make A Difference Day, and the many individuals who contributed to this project.
MVCAC's first mural is located in the tunnel on the Cedar to Green Rivers Trail under Maple Valley Highway, near Crown Donuts, STEAMboat Studio, and Imbibe.
Getting there:
- Park near Imbibe, Crown Donuts, and STEAMboat Studio;
- Walk to the trail access between Imbibe and the Chevron gas station;
- Once you reach the trail, head to your right;
- Continue walking the trail until you get to the PBT 2019 tunnel.
