🐌 Maple Valley Creative Arts Council’s Annual Slug Hunt

An Artsy Adventure with a Slimy Twist – Est. 2021

One of Maple Valley’s most unique and beloved family traditions — the Annual Slug Hunt is held annually (usually in April) at the Legacy Site! Hosted by the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council, this fun-filled event began in 2021 and has quickly grown into a must-do community experience for families, nature lovers, and creative adventurers of all ages.

What is the Slug Hunt?

Imagine an Easter egg hunt… but with slugs! 🐌 Hidden among the trails of Legacy Park (same site as the MV Farmers Market, across from Rock Creek Elementary) are 500 custom-designed, laser-printed wooden slug tokens just waiting to be found. If you’re lucky enough to snag one, it is redeemed for a charming, handmade, hand-painted Slug Buddy — our signature collectible critter!
