Home Arts Fest Gala

A BIG round of applause to all who participated!

We really want to thank all of our artists for showing their art this year! Its so exciting to see the various styles that are presented and learn from the artists what inspires them the most when they are creating their artwork! So thank you for all that you do, and for trusting us to put your art on display!

Below are this years Arts Fest 2023 winners and the sponsors who donated these wonderful awards!

The Kathy (Parnello) Metzger Memorial Award, Nancy Hansen, "Ducks Aglow"

$200 Donated by Dana and Ankie Parnello

The cash award to Nancy Hansen, a local Maple Valley artist, celebrates Dana Parnello's late sister, Kathy Metzger Parnello, who cultivated her latent artistry later in life. As she traveled and fell in love with the Tuscan countryside, she began to put brush to canvas at home and abroad. Viewers of her works experience the same sense of peace, tranquility and beauty as found in her presence. Kathy would encourage everyone to pursue their passion with vigot, no matter how late in life they discover it.

Meet This Year's Juror - Kathleen Fruge-Brown
Artist Statement: Whether I am painting outdoors, carving a print in my studio, or designing for a public space, my art is rooted in my love for the natural world. The river and forest surrounding my Pacific Northwest studio are a constant source of imagery and spiritual nourishment to me, and my roots have gone down deep in the hours I’ve stood outdoors painting. I hope to share that with others, through paintings that invite viewers into a special place and moment, and through public art that strengthens and celebrates viewers' connection to their own landscape.
