Subject: MVCAC's Spotlight -Unwrap December with Us
From: The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council

Join us for festive theater, art, music, and more as we celebrate the joy of December.

Greetings,

Wow, can you believe it's December already? As the year comes to a close, we're buzzing with excitement over the fantastic events we have planned just for you!

Kicking off the festivities, we're thrilled to present the timeless production of A Christmas Carol by the Emerald Theatre. Whether you fancy a matinee or an evening show, join us at MVCAC for a magical experience that will warm your heart and invoke the spirit of the season. Grab tickets on the Emerald Theater website.

And mark your calendar for December 14th from 10-11:30 a.m. We're hosting a Holiday Edition Barter Fair—a chance to meet your community, connect with fellow creators and exchange handmade, homemade, and homegrown treasures. It's all about swapping stories, ideas, and unique creations in the spirit of the season. There is space for several more tables; the event is free, but registration is a must, then join the Maple Valley Barters Group on Facebook at this link so you are alerted when future events are scheduled.

On December 15th, from 2-4 p.m., explore the stunning watercolors by beloved artist and longtime MVCAC member Nancy Ziegler at the MVCAC for an Art Show and Sale. With over 70 framed pieces available for purchase, find the perfect addition to your collection or a unique holiday gift.

Next up, join us for the Maple Valley Big Band Holiday Party on December 21 at 7 p.m. This FREE show is not your boring holiday concert. With several surprises in store, it will be hosted at the Maple Valley Community Center and is the Big Band's chance to give back to the community and its family members. The event will feature both holiday and standard hits from the 40s through the 70s.

Delight in holiday and classic hits from legends like Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr, Michael Buble, Blood Sweat, Tears, and Chicago. While pizza and refreshments will be available, guests are free to bring appetizers/sweets to share and their favorite beverages. If you haven't attended, prepare for a night of festive tunes to fill your spirit with joy.

Please note: This event is going to be held at the Maple Valley Community Center - address is 22010 SE 248th St, Maple Valley, WA 98038.

Come to our final General Board Meeting of the year on December 19th at 6 p.m. to learn what we have cooking for 2025. In addition, meet two inspiring youths, Cole Wolf and John Riedel, who are interested in joining our board and hear what they would like to accomplish as Board Members.

Close out the year by expressing your creative side at our Open Mic on December 26th at 6:30 p.m. It's a chance to share, listen, and connect with fellow creatives.

Why are we sharing this? Because these events aren't just about entertainment; they're about bringing our community together in celebration.

THANK YOU for your amazing support throughout 2024. We couldn't have done it without you! We hope to see you at these events as we end the year on a high note.

Warm regards,
Maple Valley Creative Arts Council
